Transport | Parking facility expansions for Co. Kildare rail lines
To ask the Minister for Transport if adequate parking facilities are likely to be provided in the most appropriate location between Maynooth and Kilcock; when the electrification of the Maynooth line is expected to take place; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Increased parking provision has been provided at Maynooth Station in recent years with an expansion of the south car park completed in 2019 and an expansion of the north car park completed in 2021. Further parking needs will be assessed by the NTA’s recently established Park & Ride Office in conjunction with Iarnród Éireann.
In relation to the electrification of the line to Maynooth, this provision is part of the DART+ West Railway Order application submitted to An Bord Pleanála in July of this year. The exact timeline when that will be delivered can only be established following the completion of the planning process and the approval of the Railway Order. However, it is intended that the overall DART+ West project will be completed during the period of the current National Development Plan which runs up to 2030.
