Health | HSE non-Covid related responses
To ask the Minister for Health the extent to which the HSE continues to deal with non-Covid19 related health issues in an expeditious manner including hospital admissions, homecare, outpatient appointments and admissions for urgent and necessary surgery; and if he will make a statement on the matter
REPLY
The Health Service Executive (HSE) has been requested to reply directly to you in the context of the above Parliamentary Question which you submitted to the Minister for response. I apologise for the delay in responding to you and any inconvenience caused. The HSE continues to provide both COVID and non-COVID care related healthcare as it has done since the start of the pandemic, with urgent and time dependent being prioritised throughout. There have been delays in people seeking and/or receiving treatment as a result of curtailment of services, resulting in patients requiring higher acuity services which would not have been the case prepandemic. The HSE’s commitment to ensuring that progress is made in relation to Scheduled Care across acute and community services is evidenced by the recently published Waiting List Action Plan (available here) which is a major focus of the HSE, DoH and NTPF.
I trust that this information is of assistance to you.
