QUESTION

To ask the Minister for Children; Equality; Disability; Integration and Youth when a community neurorehabilitation team is expected to be in place in the CHO7 area, with reference to the recommendation to establish this team in 2019, and the allocation of funding for same in 2020; if an urgent update can be provided in respect of this commitment; and if he will make a statement on the matter

REPLY

The Health Service Executive has been requested to reply directly to you in regard to your parliamentary question, which you submitted to the Minister for Health for a response. I have examined the matter and the following outlines the position.
There is currently no Community Neuro-Rehabilitation team in Dublin South Kildare and West Wicklow. However, we have recently received approval to progress as part of the national Neuro-rehabilitation Strategy Implementation. The plan is for the
team to be based in Clondalkin Primary Care Centre and will cover the catchment of Dublin South, Kildare and West Wicklow. The table below includes the funded roles on the team. A recruitment campaign is currently being developed to progress this.
