Transport | Rail service upgrades in Co Kildare

To ask the Minister for Transport the extent to which he expects commuter rail passenger numbers to increase when the lines are upgraded; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

As set out in the DART+ Programme Preliminary Business Case available here, it is projected that rail patronage will increase 46% one year after implementation of the full DART+ Programme, including background growth during the period. It is projected that public transport patronage will increase by
56% by 2043 with the DART+ Programme in place.
